my weekend(sunday 9, may 2010)

once the saturday eve party was done by sunday morning around 2.30 am. then began the tough part..that winding up.

was packed up and ready to leave by 3 with my bro canute who was there to help me out during the gig.it took about an hour and half to reach back to my house..even though i reached home by 4.15 approx i was too tired to keep everythin in place.so just went of to sleep after a good hot water shower..sure did feel nice.

funniest thing was that me and my bro woke up after lunch..and we just went out to celebrate a good weekend before another gig the same eve to get us tired again.

this evening party wasnt anything big so it would max take 15 mins setup

so the gig was supposed to start at 6 we reached my house at 5.30 and then moved to the venue which was ten mins from my house.

the day went on too...and so did the weekend end wid rainfall which led to me packing the equipment in a hurry...

but cheers the weekend went good so did my pockets fill up like every weekend..;)

my weekend(saturday 8, may 2010)

its been quite few days ive written anything on this blog.

the thing was that i was busy. week end naa continuous parties..and relatives had also come over for the summer..

dad came back from kuwait today and got me my roland sp 606 sampler for my dj set.midi controllers really help.

played for a typical traditional wedding roce on the 8th of may 2010.

it was interesting at the same time tiring.

for the first time i liked the fact of the traditional party of a roce..they had a pig carried on procession along with goats and rooster.

ok tht was the only traditional party of the wedding...

the function was in some village on the outskirts of mangalore..called b c road

i was supposed to play frm 6 to 11 but then they loved it so much that they requested me alot to play longer...there was a really good crowd and it went on till 2.30 in the mornin...

it was a pleasant but a very hectic day..

but end of it all the crowd loved the music and i loved playing good music for the crowd

Essential things to become a dj...

*firstly have 2 contact number(more the better)

*keep aside a huge amount to invest on your atair before you actually get in the scene properly and earn your living or enough money to spend lavishly on your cloths and accessories...coz your appearance counts along with the music you play

*have a good music logic and have some intellectual logic too so that you know what to play for what kind of crowd

*keep your virtual dj software at home even if your carrying your laptop and please dont use winamp or windows media player for djin' please its better you go to your mom and ask for money to buy virtual dj for yourself or if your more of a chepo then go on youtube and search for a tutorial to download a pirated copy..:P..

*use good sound quality songs...preferably use ripped songs or extended mixs rather than individually produced mix's.theres no actually issue with them but atleast make sure the sound quality is clearly audible

*MAJOR DONT: :dont let the crowd come and pose infront of ur dj set coz soon ull find out that wannabee has posted on facebook calling himself dj shithead blah blah posing wid ur system claiming to be his...

: :dont eva take request from the public coz ur not his jukebox at his fathers house...

IF YOUR A DJ

*dont think playing with pioneers makes you very superior...you can have the equipment coz your dad is rich and he bought it for your as your birthday gift..:P...but prove that the pioneers are in the right owners hands by playing well...atleast descent enough...

*if you see a dj with a laptop along with cd decks or turntables dont regard them as laptop djs...

coz u need to update your g.k. coz theres something called serato..reduces carriage load..so dont think if ur flipping cds makes you better than a dj spin with serato..it just proves that he is more professional than you and is couple of steps ahead of u in technology

*dont think your the best dj in town. just cause there is no other dj competing with you. just remember you were the snob creating a monopoly in the scene so that no other dj comes up..buddy that doesnt make you the best that just changes your title from a dj to a fag..

*the drinks for djs are free in the club. so that doesnt mean you sneak out bottles to your crib..man your earning cash there so spend it u miser.

starting this blog

I'm a guy who hates to travel by bus..loves to travel by my bike(yamaha fz-s), believe me that bike has some amazing power....but unfortunately on jan 21st 2010 i met with a major accident.so now my dear parents have restricted me from using that bike.but still i get to keep it..no selling it off.:P..

so now after 2 months complete bed rest that ended in march ive begun my daily routines again.because of attendance shortage i lost a year in college tho but thats a side topic.

nyways coming to the point..(ive got a real bad habit of deviating from the topic so please do tolerate it..:~P)

so today i travelled by bus.it was a nice drive.for a change i gt a place to sit.it was pleasant enough..it rained too so it didnt make a journey feel hectic, coz it takes me half an hour to reach the city by bus.actually thats the main reason i miss my bike coz with that it used to take me mere 10 mins to max 15.

so write now i'm sitting at this restraunt delisiaso in empire mall.

a very nice place with a wifi spot..i luv the food here...u must visit..

so i can give this place a lil credit for giving me a nice pleasant environment to start this blog..;)

introducing myself

hi my name is harrison monteiro aka DJ Monty...from kuwait based in india fr the time being...

i dont know today all of a sudden i thought of starting a blog..no particular reason but just felt like...

ive been wanting to start a blog for years now but never knew exactly what to start on...what to blog about...

many friends had started blogs of their own most of em are extinct now..i wanna make this one interesting..

i am new to india and ive lived all my life in kuwait...a small country with less variety of people..i mean staying here in india now i see alot of stuff that i had never come across...for instance like..all i knew of back there was that there diversity in nationality...but after coming here to india and staying in a place like mangalore i find alot more diversity...in terms of religion or cast and many other forms..will get to all those points in the further blogs of mine...i guess ill hv alot to talk about..

anyways that was my introduction....

dont worry in my blogs i wont only talk about mangalore issues or any particular issues as such...i like to keep track of everything happenin....;)
